About two weeks ago I downloaded Safari from Apple with my iTunes update. As a web developer that does not own a Mac I was excited to fire it up to see how she runs. I am a 99.999...% Firefox user and wished other browsers would get it right as far as consistancy for web developers go. I don't do much surfing in the internet with Internet Explorer and only fire it up to test web pages in.
Safari - I find the text in this browser to render quite superbly. My Gmail is easy to read and I find web pages load pretty fast. I am quite impressed with how Safari handles RSS feeds and that when I make changes to my preferences, there is no save\ok button, Safari goes ahead and saves the changes for you.
Ok, everybody does tabbed browsing now right? Well with Safari you can grab a tab and when you drag it away from the tab bar, the browser will create a thumbnail of the page and open it in a new window when you let go if it.
Firefox - I would say it is still a great browser and is consistently the first one that I reach for. It it not as fast as Safari but still fast as far as browsers go. I love the fact that one can customize their broser to suit their needs.
I run the Abduction, Colorzilla, del.icio.us Bookmarks, FireFTP, Greasemonkey, Firebug, Google Broswer Sync, Live Page Rank, McAfee SiteAdvisor, Palette Grabber, SEO for Firefox, StumbleUpon and Window Resizer plugins.
Internet Explorer – I'm not a hardcore IE basher compared to some that I know. With that said though, I was always told to keep my mouth shut if there is not anything nice to say ... Download Firefox here - Download Safari here
